LEGACY: Inclusive yesterday, today and tomorrow
Inclusive yesterday, today and tomorrow
There weren’t a lot of women in advertising in 1971 when Judy, Steve, Roy and Tim founded GSD&M, but they knew then what we know today—having different perspectives in the room leads to better ideas and smarter solutions. Those trailblazers didn’t just start an agency, they launched 50+ years of inclusion. That’s why we’re proud to be recognized as a leader when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion. We launched the ad industry’s first Vendor Partner Diversity program in 2004, and our employee-led pro bono initiatives foster real change in the world. When it comes to race, ethnicity, gender, identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or thought, GSD&M has always been and will continue to be a place where everyone belongs.
ASI&N unites GSD&Mers with South, Southeastern and Eastern Asian as well as those with Pacific Islander heritage to create a community to disseminate knowledge and build awareness about the diversity and breadth of the Asian culture to affect change in GSD&M’s work and culture in general.
BLK leads the conversation about what it means to be Black at work, home and in society in general. BLK encourages our fellow GSD&Mers to enrich GSD&M’s work with Black diaspora that reflects the customers of our clients by education, inspiration and celebration of the Black experience.
GSDads&Moms is a parents affinity group designed to support the important work of raising the next generation. This group serves as an accessible resource for parents while influencing policies that make GSD&M more inclusive for current and prospective parents.
GSD&מ provides a safe space for GSD&Mers who identify as Jewish to come together as a community. Our group works to increase awareness of Jewish culture and the Jewish American experience, both within the agency and for our clients.
GSDyM fosters the positive cultural and ethnic appreciation of those of Latin and Hispanic heritage. We shine a light on the challenges and triumphs that affect our community by enlightening our clients and fellow GSD&Mers about the different societies that are not only building our country but our clients’ business as well.
OUT& creates a safe space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. OUT& advocates for an engaging work environment by promoting inclusive policies and practices and promotes awareness within our agency and across our creative work through education and representation of different sexual orientations and gender identities.
WOM&N’s goal is to foster an inclusive and equitable environment where women can thrive both personally and professionally. Through networking, mentorship, education and collaboration, we advocate for gender equality, promoting women’s leadership and representation, and driving positive change within our agency and the broader industry.
&Abled’s mission is to increase disability awareness through education and advocacy. We know accessibility and inclusion make the work better. GSD&M wants individuals with disabilities to feel welcome by having the tools and access needed to be comfortable and engaged.
GSD&Merging is a community of GSD&M employees ages 35 and under. The purpose is to collaborate, share thoughts and ideas, and provide resources to nurture the development of our next generation of leaders.
WALK THE WALK: We walk the walk and talk the talk
We walk the walk and talk the talk
A lot of companies are all hat and no cattle when it comes to standing up for the rights of others. But we don’t back down from a fight. When we see an injustice, we take it head on using all our talents and resources. That’s why the words, “Ideas that make a difference” are the first ones you see hanging above the lobby when you walk into our building.
