On January 7, 2012, I arrived at the Capitol to find thousands of Austinites gathered on the steps, equipped with 100+ old school boom boxes, broadcasting all of your favorite dance jams over the radio. It was my dream come true.
It was Tom+Gary’s Dynamic Dance Party Delivery Service. Austin was the latest stop on their coast-to-coast tour delivering happiness (in the form of the biggest dance party you’ve ever been a part of). Together, us revelers bonded over Journey, Beastie Boys and even The Village People and trekked across town led by our Tom and Gary themselves. You could tell this wasn’t their first time doing this.

As a matter of fact, they took their kickstarter-funded party from Canada to the US and they soon hope to take it all over the world. And here’s the best news: They are back for SXSW this Saturday. Picking up where they left off in January, the DDP is teaming up with Giftiki for an even bigger party this time.

Hey, it’s SXSW. I know you’re busy. But, trust me — the blogger you’ve never met — this is something you do not want to miss. I’ll see you there! I’ll be the one in the crowd having the time of my life.
