Games that lay across our established social platforms is a new and budding industry.  Games may be a little misleading as new platforms like groupon or whrrl can be considered  social games.  These platform require ‘players’ to work together to win.  It is this underlying theme I think is particularly interesting.  Problems or situations that would be impossible individually can be possible working together.  Global Warming was used as an example (one that this tree hugging hippy enjoys) works well.  Global Warming is too large of a problem for one person or even one branch of science to solve on its own.  If we can group people from multiple walks of live and disciplines together these impossible problems become difficult and doable.  I cannot get a groupon on my own others must pitch in to make it a reality.
