Well if you live in Austin, my next question is, what are you doing tonight?
ARTCRANK is invading Austin for a bicycle-inspired poster artwork show that introduces people to talented local artists and sends them home with affordable, original works of art. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill bike gang throwing together a makeshift art show. This is a group with Purpose – something we know a little bit about here at GSD&M.
ARTCRANK uses creativity to change the way people think about bicycles and grow the cycling community.
Show poster by Big Table Studio.
In every host city, they select a Cause Partner: A local, national or international organization that’s using bicycles to make a difference in communities, help people live better lives, or just make the world a better place. In concert with their sponsors, ARTCRANK is used as a means to help raise money and awareness for these organizations. Austin’s Cause Partner is, you guessed it, Livestrong.
What you’ll find at tonight’s ARTCRANK Austin Opening Night Party:
– Handmade, signed and numbered posters by 30 local artists, all selling for $40 each.
– Craft beer by Widmer Brothers Brewing in ARTCRANK glasses you can buy to support Livestrong.
– Valet bike parking by Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop, which will feature an extended run of the art after tonight.
– And quite possibly the best bike art party on the planet.
Cheers to Bikes, Art and Doing Good.
Show is at the Pine Street Station at E. 5th St. & Waller. 6PM – 9:30PM. Admission is free. See you there!
