~Derek Dollahite and Rye Clifton to lead efforts for the newly created team~
AUSTIN, TX—June 2, 2015—GSD&M announced today that Derek Dollahite has joined the agency as director of experience design to form the newly created experience design team. GSD&M’s new experience design team was created to concept, design, prototype and develop interactions that help brands find both relevancy and utility in the context of online, in-app, in-store and real world experiences. Dollahite’s role will be to grow and shape the experience design team and help lead the design of the agency’s digital work.
Also holding the title of director of experience design, Rye Clifton will work with Dollahite and GSD&M’s design and development teams to help clients find meaningful ways to connect with consumers. By creating the experience design team, GSD&M is able to offer a new approach to creative marketing and advertising to its clients with innovative storytelling—and still focus on driving brands with a purpose.
“In order to replicate that controlled chaos throughout the agency, you have to have a small group of people that understand and love the GSD&M culture to the core,” said Jay Russell, chief creative officer of GSD&M. “Idea people like Derek and Rye, that just happen to be versed in all the technological tools, are what make the crazy digital ideas on paper actually come to life.”
Prior to joining GSD&M, Dollahite served as art director at nFusion, in addition to working as an account director before becoming principal and creative director at Coloring Book Studio.
