Beginning September 3, for the first time in company history, Walgreens will help provide lifesaving vaccines (up to 3 million) to children in developing countries when immunizations are administered at a Walgreens pharmacy, Healthcare Clinic at select Walgreens or Duane Reade pharmacy in New York. Walgreens is partnering with the United Nations Foundation’s [email protected] Program for this effort and the accompanying campaign, which will encourage families to consider flu shots in September and October.
Walgreens has been living up to its purpose and meeting Americans “At the Corner of Happy & Healthy” for more than 100 years; it was the first pharmacy in the United States to offer flu shots to the public. This campaign, crafted by GSD&M, shows that Walgreens remains committed to living its purpose–offering convenience and accessibility to its customers as well as improving immunization rates and population health beyond the U.S.
The creative elements of the campaign include include one 30-second TV spot and digital efforts consisting of flash and rich media. In-store and social media components will accompany the TV and digital work. The national campaign will run September 3 to October 14.
