Spots with Jordan Spieth, Hunter Mahan airing during AT&T Pebble Beach telecast
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (February 12, 2015) – Two new commercials for PGATOUR.COM, featuring Jordan Spieth and Hunter Mahan each paired with a “buddy” in youthful, fun situations to show how the PGA TOUR’s digital products connect fans with their favorite players, will debut during today’s first-round telecast of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Golf Channel (3-6 p.m. ET).
The spot with Spieth depicts him and his “buddy” watching a scary movie, throwing a Frisbee, sharing a milk shake, and riding a tandem bike. Mahan is shown fishing, building a sand castle, riding go-carts and swinging on a swing set with his “buddy.” The TOUR commissioned a custom track of music to go with these scenes. They were collaboratively developed by PGA TOUR Brand Marketing, PGA TOUR Digital and the TOUR’s longtime ad agency, GSD&M.
Both commercials will also air during CBS Sports’ weekend coverage (3-6 p.m. ET Saturday, 3-6:30 p.m. ET Sunday).

“This campaign uses a mix of humor and nostalgia to illustrate how our fans feel when PGATOUR.COM connects them to their favorite player,” said Jeff Orth, Vice President, Account Director at GSD&M. “Hunter and Jordan were a great choice for this campaign because of their willingness to have fun and it shows in their performances.”
Votaw said the campaign will be supported with more than $5 million in media value through print, digital and social media during 2015.
