Here’s a simple, but surprisingly effective ad from Greenpeace, calling out Facebook for its use of coal as a primary energy source.
Released one week ago, it already has almost 150K views.
The timing of it is perfect given the upcoming release of the film “The Social Network.”
Interesting use of the now ubiquitous friend/unfriend aspect as well.
Also, since we’re on the subject of coal, here are a couple of other ads from a little while ago have some fund with the idea of “clean coal.”

If you go to the website, www.thisisreality.org, you’ll see the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” leading you to all sorts of interesting facts, blending a bit of humor with powerful stats.
Serious subject + clever advertising = higher awareness (and maybe even behavior change!)
