This season, GSD&M’s holiday card went to the dogs (and cats). We created an integrated campaign to raise awareness for the local animal shelter, Austin Pets Alive!. As an agency filled with animal lovers, the pet policy is: the more furry companions in the halls, the better. So how did we create exposure and help get a dozen animals adopted this holiday season?
Efforts to raise awareness and put pets in homes included:
- 18-foot “wishlist” tree: We constructed am 18-foot “wishlist tree” out of hundreds of blankets to ensure every shelter animal stays warm this winter.
- Donations: Employees stepped up and donated food, funds, toys, sweaters and more.
- Website takeover: We transformed our website into a hub of adoptable pets. GSDM.com featured imagery of the animals in hopes of generating adoptions and donations.
- Holiday card: A traditional holiday card mailed to our family, friends, clients and partners featured adoptable shelter dogs and cats, and raised awareness for the shelter.
Good news: Every animal on our website takeover was adopted aside from Olympia, a sweet girl who’s still looking for her forever home.
Austin is the largest no-kill city in the country, thanks to the partnership between the city and APA!. Working together, APA! and the city of Austin have saved over 60,000 lives in the last decade. Donate here or check out adoptable dogs and cats to find a new best friend.
