Now it’s just a song that you really know. But before it was that it was a catch tune that grabbed people. Grabbed them so much they made covers of it, tons of covers and posted them on YouTube. Well Gotye took all those covers of “Somebody That I Used to Know” and mashed them up into a song they call “Somebodies.”

A major label might have fired off a thousand Cease and Desist letters but these savvy musicians harnessed the passion of their fans and rewarded them with their own song. Now they’re not only the band with great music, they’re the cool band that cares and has great music.
