U.S. Air Force Women in Sports

Where there's airpower, there's girl power

Throughout its history, the Air Force has championed women’s achievements. From the first female pilots to the first female astronaut to the first female four-star General, the Air Force has always been a branch where strong, confident women are encouraged to break barriers. This dedication continues with its latest commitment to empowering women and girls to take part in athletics where the values that sports instill and the character they develop last a lifetime, whether you ever serve or not.

Strategy: Leaders on and off the field

Athletes possess the same strengths the Air Force values: leadership, integrity and teamwork. So, we created video content to highlight the Air Force as a champion of women and girls in sports by showing how athletics can answer many of the internal questions young girls face every day when growing up.

Outcome And the crowd goes wild

This campaign has had multiple touchpoints online and across broadcast and social, including during highly relevant athletic events like the NBA finals and Olympics. The Air Force’s Women in Sports initiative also partners with several organizations that empower young women to reach new heights through sports.
